The graceful Oryx is one the rarest mammals on earth. This animal is so much adapted to the parched and brutally hot landscape that its ability to go without water for a prolonged period can only be rivaled by that of the camel.
Oryx is among the antelope species of the genus Oryx. Out of the four Oryx, three can be found in the arid traits of Africa and the fourth species is native of the Arabian Peninsula. Oryx has wonderful long spiky horns with a neck and mane resembling that of a horse.
During the ritualistic display of dominance, these antelopes show their distinctive features to exhibit their long hinged horns that can reach up to 1500mm in length.
All the Africa species of onyxes are fast, large and powerful. This animal can live up to 20 years in the wild.
